With a 62 degree LER eyepiece, these binoculars provide maximum comfort and prevent eye fatigue for an increased recognition of fine details.

Extremely robust binoculars with magnesium housing, sealed and filled with nitrogen  
The BT binoculars are specifically designed for rugged outdoor conditions. With an IPX6 seal and nitrogen-filled construction, these binoculars effectively prevent fogging of the internal optics, even in challenging weather. The lightweight magnesium housing not only saves weight, but also makes for easy handling. Plus, this set includes two EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 20mm eyepieces from the trusted LER series, known for their exceptional quality in the astronomy field. These eyepieces have a 62 degree apparent field of view and a 20mm focal length, resulting in a 24x magnification that offers a wide-angle view (2.6 degree field of view) at a moderate level. Additionally, the LER design with a long 15mm eye relief and soft silicone eyecups, which can be reversed, ensures a comfortable and relaxed viewing experience. For optimal viewing, a flat and sharp image field is key, and these waterproof eyepieces with argon filling provide 

Interchangeable eyepieces with 1.25 inch / 31.7mm plug-in diameter 
Customize the magnification and field of view to your specific preferences by selecting from a wide range of compatible eyepieces. The Explore Scientific BT-82 SF Large Binoculars are designed to work with all eyepiece types with a plug-in diameter of 1.25 inch / 31.7mm. For optimal results, we recommend using EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC eyepieces from the 62 and 82 degree series, available in focal lengths ranging from 8 to 26mm (refer to item No. 02188xx and 02196xx). With a focal length ratio of binoculars to eyepiece, the magnification can be easily adjusted from 18x to 60x. The eyepieces are securely held in place by a precise brass compression ring clamp, ensuring a stable and precise viewing experience. 

Use of color and nebula filters for astronomical observations 
Enhance the clarity and definition of objects and their features by affixing the corresponding filters directly onto the eyepiece sleeves. Color and nebula filters should always be used in pairs. All EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC screw filters with a 1.25inch / 31.7mm diameter are suitable (see item No. 03102xx).  

Comfortable 45 degree view and helical single focus 
The Explore Scientific BT-82 SF Large Binoculars offer a viewing angle of 45 degrees, allowing for comfortable observation even when the binoculars are tilted. The interpupillary distance can be adjusted from 54 to 76mm, and the helical individual focusing feature allows for precise adjustment. Additionally, the binoculars come with extendable dew caps that can be removed in high humidity and cold conditions to prevent fogging and control stray light.

Integrated carrying handle 
A metal handle situated at the center of balance simplifies transportation and guarantees a firm grip when assembling on a tripod. 

Suitable tripods and tripod connection
For optimal use of these large binoculars, it is highly recommended to use a sturdy photo tripod with sufficient load capacity. The tripod can be connected to the binoculars through two 1/4 inch or one 3/8 inch threaded holes, which are standard photo tripod threads. We suggest using the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC U-Mount with field tripod (item No. 01-14300) for the best results. This mount is specially designed for the BT series of large binoculars and securely holds these devices. The excellent mechanism of the U-Mount allows for easy movement and tracking, with adjustable friction in both axes. This helps maintain a stable position for the binoculars, depending on the desired level of friction. Thanks to its sturdy construction and large stainless steel tripod, the U-Mount minimizes vibrations and allows for clear observation of even the finest details, even at high magnifications.
